About the Role
The Project Manager – Asphalt & Concrete is responsible for taking ownership of projects from start to finish—making sure the work is properly planned, communicated, executed, documented, and closed out successfully.
This position is the bridge between our customers, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and office team. The Project Manager works closely with TAC’s Superintendents and project teams to keep schedules, costs, materials, change orders, documentation, and customer expectations aligned throughout the life of each project.

A successful Project Manager at Tucson Asphalt owns the project. They know where their jobs stand, communicate early when something changes, solve problems before they become bigger problems, and follow through until the work is complete.
Success means projects are properly planned and stay on schedule; costs, quantities, and production are monitored; change orders and additional work are captured; billing and documentation are timely and accurate; and customers are kept informed.
Just as important, success means building strong, long-term relationships. We want our customers to know that when TAC commits to something, we will communicate, follow through, and stand behind our work.

Project Managers are a critical connection between the work we win and the work we put on the ground. They help turn an awarded project into a successful project by bringing together the people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, schedule, budget, and customer.
This role works closely with Estimating, Operations, Accounting, Superintendents, field crews, vendors, subcontractors, and leadership. The decisions made by our Project Managers directly affect job profitability, cash flow, customer relationships, future opportunities, and the overall success of Tucson Asphalt.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Candidates should possess Expeditor and Expediting skills to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
- Candidates should possess Inspection skills to verify work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
- Candidates should possess Logistics Management skills to organize transportation, inventory, and on-site resource allocation.
- Experience in construction or asphalt paving projects, with knowledge of relevant codes, safety standards, and best practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with field crews, clients, and suppliers.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proficiency in project management software and basic office tools; familiarity with reading plans and technical documents.
- Relevant education or certifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field are preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and to conduct frequent site visits across the Tucson area.
