Production Chemist (Formulation)
Location: Irvine, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Onsite)
Duration: Contract through 12/31/2026 (Potential to extend or convert)
Pay Rate: $33.80/hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a Production Chemist to support formulation activities in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for preparing products and intermediates using biological and chemical materials while ensuring compliance with established procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, GMP-regulated setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate bulk products and intermediates of low to medium complexity in accordance with approved procedures and specifications
- Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and controlled documentation practices
- Perform data entry, material tracking, and inventory control using ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Complete and maintain accurate production documentation in compliance with GDP/GMP standards
- Monitor manufacturing processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and yield targets are met
- Coordinate, prioritize, and execute daily lab and production tasks to meet strict deadlines
- Handle biological and chemical materials safely, including hazardous substances, in accordance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field
- 1 years of experience in a manufacturing or formulation environment (biotech, pharma, or related industry preferred)
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience is a plus
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, materials, and processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
