Job Title: Senior Estimator

SUMMARY
The Estimator plays a vital role in construction projects by gathering information (Takeoffs, Sub/Vendor Pricing, Specs, Bid Documents) for creating accurate and detailed project cost estimates. This position involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, owners and suppliers to optimize accuracy and meet requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze project scope: Review blueprints, technical specifications, and other project documentation to understand the full scope of work.
• Perform quantity takeoffs: Accurately measure and quantify the amount of materials, labor, and equipment needed to complete the Earthworks, Roadways, Drainage, and Utilities. This step is often supported by specialized estimating software (B2W Estimate, Agtek Gradework, Planswift, & Office Suite).
• Solicit and evaluate bids: Collect and compare quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for all aspects of the project.
• Collaborate with project teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop bid strategies, present findings, and make recommendations for cost-saving measures or risk mitigation.
• Prepare and submit proposals: Assemble all gathered data into a comprehensive and well-organized cost estimate and bid proposal for clients or bidding competitions.
• Identify and assess risks: Factor potential project variables, such as weather delays, material shortages, or difficult site conditions, into the estimate.
QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: 3 Years of proven experience in construction and Estimating
• Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes, often within a specific area like civil site work.
• Software proficiency: Competency with industry-standard estimating and takeoff software, such as B2W Estimate, Agtek Gradework, Planswift, & Office Suite.
• Analytical skills: Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to accurately calculate costs and account for unforeseen site challenges.
• Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to articulate proposals, present estimates, and negotiate with vendors and clients.
• Attention to detail: Meticulous accuracy is required to ensure that all costs are captured and that the final estimate is precise.
