JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CTE DIRECTOR

- Arizona CTE Certificate
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experiences and/or related work experience.
- Master’s Degree in an appropriate field preferred.
- Arizona Administrators Certificate preferred.

REPORTS TO: Principal or designee
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 months
POSITION GOAL:
To coordinate resources and provide 9-12 students enrolled in the CTE Programs with education and training of sufficient excellence to enable students upon graduation. So they can enter the job market or post-secondary training with well-developed skills and with attitudes and behaviors that will enhance success as workers and individuals.
ESSENTIALS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS CTE DIRECTOR includes the following. Other duties as assigned.
- Coordinates development of a comprehensive, modern program of Career Technical Education.
- Maintains working relationships with the CTE Advisory Council, community and state agencies, and area business/industry, in order to provide training consistent with needs.
- Using ADE/CTE Program Standards, annually evaluates CTE Program progress toward the goal of providing opportunity for students to prepare for gainful Workplace Skills.
- Maintains current knowledge of rules and regulations affecting Career and Technical Education.
- Complete evaluation standards reports, Enrollment reporting (40th/100th), improvement plans, mid-final Narrative Reports for Perkins Grants, Performance Measurements (Placement, Concentrator/Participants reports) as an End-of-Year reporting.
- Preparation and administer the CTE department budgets for State and Federal grants, in addition, assists with regular district budget.
- Seeks grants and complete proposals necessary to obtain state and federal funds for CTE Programs.
- Coordinates the collection, review, and submission to state agencies of all forms and reports relative to CTE at the local level.
- Coordinates the NATIVE-CTED reports such as monthly Attendance/BIO submission, CTED District Membership Cost report, Budget Proposal, and Program Evaluation.
- Coordinates the gathering, selection, and analysis of data with respect to jobs available to local high school graduates.
- Work to identify and define local job opportunities and the role of the schools in meeting these opportunities.
- Coordinates Work-Based Learning for our CTE students.
- Coordinates in-service training for CTE staff through the Workforce initiative (formerly School-to-Work).
- Interprets and markets the CTE Program to the public during CTE Advisory Council quarterly meetings, Fall/Spring Annual Parent Day, PAC meetings, and at the high school level.
- Make recommendations for long-term adjustments, changes, additions, and deletions in the CTE Programs to meet changing job trends and needs.
- Available as a resource in recruitment and screening of CTE teachers.
- Maintains membership in and participates in the affairs of professional societies devoted to the advancement of CTE.
- Provide coordination of CTE counseling to students.
- Conducts informal observations of CTE teachers and provide them with formative evaluations. Make recommendations to the principal for areas in need of improvement.
- Coordinates and administers the CTE Technical Skills Online Assessments in the Fall and Spring.
- Coordinates and implement Industry Certification for CTE students.
- Coordinates and implements Intergovernmental Agreements with community colleges and universities and evaluates the success of these programs.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes responsibilities as the Principal or the Superintendent may assign.
- Provides direction and support for concurrent and dual enrollment program development and implementation.
- Provides direction and support to CTE teachers with their full implementation of ECAP requirements.
- Ensuring Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) are properly organized and actively engaged in authorized activities.
- Facility career fairs, post-secondary school recruitment fairs, guest speaker and class presentation for CTE program students.
