Customer Engagement Assistant 2
Join the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) team as a Customer Engagement Assistant 2 and demonstrate your excellent customer service skills! We're currently seeking dedicated and self-motivated individuals committed to providing exceptional customer experiences at the Garden Home Recreation Center.
The Garden Home Recreation Center offers programs for all ages including youth sports, arts and crafts, adult fitness, dance, gymnastics, and much more. As an Office Assistant, you'll play a key role as the main point of contact for patrons, affiliates, and partners, helping to foster a welcoming and inclusive community environment. You'll also offer vital administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of THPRD facilities, enhancing overall community experiences through exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patrons professionally and courteously, ensuring positive experiences both in-person and over the phone.
- Provide helpful information and assistance regarding schedules, program descriptions, and general district information.
- Answer telephone calls, directing calls to the appropriate personnel, and accurately taking messages when needed.
- Provide general clerical support such as data entry, preparing and proofreading forms, letters, flyers, and promotional materials.
- Assist in program enrollment, registration, payment processing, and generating prescribed reports as necessary.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess:
- Experience and knowledge of office management principles, along with effective problem-solving skills.
- A strong commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons and stakeholders.
- A basic understanding of relevant software and computer operations, particularly Office 365 platforms such as Word, Excel, and Teams.
- The ability to learn and effectively use proprietary patron registration software.

Compensation
Pay rate: $20.15 hourly.
The full hourly range for this job classification is $20.15 to $22.71. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
The district also offers an additional 5% bilingual pay incentive for staff who regularly use their bilingual or multilingual skills.
Scheduling
Tentative hours and shift availability:
- The schedule for this position is Wednesday through Friday, 3:30 PM to 8:45 PM, and Saturday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Additional days and hours may be available based on facility needs.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age on your first day of work
Job Classification Status
This is a part-time variable position. Part-time Variable (PTV) employees work an average of less than 29 hours per week and may work less than 1,560 hours annually.
