Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is hiring Concessions Staff to support food service operations at the Athletic Center and other THPRD locations. This role offers competitive pay and an opportunity to gain work experience while supporting community recreation programs and events.
Concession stand locations include:
- Court 7 Café at the Athletic Center
- Sunset Park
- PCC Rock Creek
- Mountainview Champions Park
- HMT softball fields
This recruitment will be used to support staffing needs through the end of the summer term.
Job Details
Concessions staff maintain operations and assists customers. This position assists in setting the example and ensuring the highest level of patron experience in concessions. Qualified candidates will be mature, responsible, and dependable individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Duties are primarily performed in concession stands, which can be hot or cold and noisy.
The flow of work and the character of responsibilities involve typical mental and visual attention. Manual dexterity and coordination are required for more than 50% of the work period. The position requires continual standing, walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. Frequent lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 40 pounds is required.
Typical Schedule
This position requires a flexible schedule based on programming and event needs, with work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and seasonal demand related to athletic events and recreation programs.
Pay
$18.27 - $19.42 hourly
The hiring rate range for this position is $18.27 to $19.42. The full hourly range for this job classification is $18.27 to $20.60. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of food preparation and food service practices, including menu planning
- Proper use and cleaning of kitchen equipment and adherence to food service safety and sanitation requirements
- Basic operation of office equipment, including computers and cash registers
- Basic arithmetic, spelling, and communication skills
- Current Food Handlers Permit (may be obtained after hire)
- At least 16 years of age
- One year of food handling or hostess experience
