Job Title: Assistant General Manager
Schedule: Monday–Friday | No Evening Shifts

Position Summary

We’re looking for a driven, knowledgeable Assistant General Manager to help steer day-to-day branch operations and support broader organizational goals. This position requires a hands-on, people-focused leader who can deliver outstanding customer experiences, maintain consistent operational efficiency, and guide a motivated team. Candidates who are organized, adaptable, and accustomed to fast-paced, service-oriented environments—especially those from wholesale distribution, skilled trades, or related industries—will thrive here.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the General Manager to direct branch activities and ensure every customer receives top-tier service
• Contribute to budget development, evaluate performance metrics, and recommend improvements to increase profitability and streamline processes
• Manage purchasing and inventory levels to match demand, reduce shortages, and prevent excess material
• Conduct weekly walkthroughs to confirm safety standards, cleanliness, and operational alignment
• Maintain and reinforce company policies, procedures, and expectations across the branch
• Handle core facility tasks including maintenance coordination, housekeeping oversight, and service requests
• Assign daily duties, coach team members, and track overall performance
• Verify order accuracy, billing correctness, and timely fulfillment to sustain customer satisfaction
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new employees
• Build and adjust staff schedules to ensure dependable coverage
• Resolve customer concerns, discrepancies, and service issues with professionalism and urgency
• Document and report any incidents or injuries in accordance with HR and company guidelines
• Participate in leadership meetings and contribute ideas for ongoing improvement

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct quarterly check-ins and annual performance evaluations
• Oversee company vehicle usage and enforce safety protocols
• Represent the branch at local events, community activities, or industry functions
• Remain available for urgent or after-hours operational needs when required

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience in sales, retail, distribution, or operations
• Understanding of warehouse operations, distribution processes, or trade-related industries (plumbing knowledge is a bonus)
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CSD or comparable systems preferred
• Solid problem-solving skills and general mechanical aptitude
• Forklift experience or certification is advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
• Strong math, reading comprehension, and organizational abilities
