Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician — Huntsville and Decatur, AL
TTL is seeking an NDT Technician to join our team in Alabama. In this position, you will play a vital role performing visual inspections of structural welds, structural steel and coatings. This role will also prepare daily reports and information for clients while maintaining proper procedures, accurate computations, and cordial relationships.
Responsibilities Include
- Perform visual inspections (VT) of Structural welds to ensure that it conforms to applicable standards. AWS Certified Welding Inspector would be a plus but not required.
- Perform Nondestructive Testing in following methods; Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant testing (PT).
- Perform coating inspections and testing to ensure that it conforms to applicable standards.
- Inspects structural steel/bolting to applicable codes.
- Basic computer skills and related technology.
- Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintains cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
- Prepares daily reports and information for clients. Operates with moderate supervision.
- Ultrasonic Level II and Phased Array Ultrasonic Level II required
- Level II MT and PT certifications strongly desired
- At least a high school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in reading drawings, plans, and blueprints
- Professionally communicate orally and in writing
- Basic computer skills with related technology
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Operate aerial lifts and work at heights
- Possess sufficient stamina to work in an outdoor (hot and cold) environment
