Paver Barrier Wall Operator

Paver Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the concrete paver and curb/barrier machine.

Responsibilities

• Operate the paver and other heavy equipment in a safe manner
• Maintain and clean the machine every day
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
• Operate the Paver controls the screed auger, control the hopper, and navigate the direction of the paver
• Line paver appropriately to the work area, and ensure proper application of the concrete to the desired height, width, and depth
• Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Paver.
• Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
• Follow directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Work in a variety of weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from over 85 degrees to below 40 degrees.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Driver's License
• Knowledge of road construction materials and processes
  
  

Requirements

• Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
• Ability to perform frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to see and hear well (naturally or with correction).
• Ability to travel and work overtime, as requested.
