Hydraulic System Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced engineer to design and support hydraulic control systems for actuator applications. This newly created role owns end-to-end system design, integration, testing, and production support, partnering closely with production, sales, and service teams. The ideal candidate brings a hybrid mechanical/electrical background and deep fluid-power expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Design hydraulic control systems using CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Select and integrate valves, pumps, gearboxes, cylinders, accumulators, switches, and related components
- Simulate and analyze system performance to meet engineering standards
- Develop and execute testing and validation plans for hydraulic systems
- Create maintenance schedules and documentation for field-deployed systems
- Provide technical support to internal sales and customer service teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers and engineering peers
Candidate Profile Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering
Experience
- 3–5 years in hydraulic system design (specialist or senior individual-contributor level)
- Hands-on with fluid-power components (actuators, self-contained units, fail-safe mechanisms)
Technical & Software Skills
- Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks strongly preferred)
- Solid understanding of fluid dynamics and mechanical system design
- Experience with solenoids, control valves, accumulators, PLCs, and electronic controllers
Behavioral & Core Competencies
- Self-directed, quick learner with strong problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a new business area with limited in-house expertise
