About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has opened within a dynamic and growth-focused pharmaceutical research and development team. We are seeking an Associate Scientist to support the formulation efforts for inhalation-based drug products, including Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs), Dry Powder Inhalers (DPIs), and nasal spray systems.
This hands-on, second-shift laboratory position operates within a regulated GMP environment. The ideal candidate will bring energy, accuracy, and a collaborative mindset to the role while contributing to formulation development, process improvement, and documentation excellence.
This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates with a foundational understanding of formulation techniques to apply their education and grow in a professional R&D setting.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of formulations (solutions, suspensions, propellant-based systems) for inhalation therapies.
• Support lab-scale batch preparations and participate in scaling-up activities.
• Collaborate with senior scientists and cross-functional teams during development and manufacturing phases.
• Document experimental procedures, observations, and results in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Maintain accurate lab records and contribute to the drafting of protocols and reports.
• Operate standard laboratory equipment and maintain a safe, clean working environment in line with EH&S policies.
• Participate in troubleshooting formulation issues and supporting continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutics, or a related discipline.
• 1-2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with formulation processes and handling of laboratory instruments.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of GMP, GLP, and regulatory documentation.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Attributes

• Exposure to inhalation dosage forms (MDI, DPI, nasal spray) is a plus.
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative lab environment.
