Role Description The Patient Care Coordinator/Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based in Mount Kisco, NY. This role is responsible for greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and ensuring a welcoming and organized front desk environment. Day-to-day tasks include answering and directing phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating patient records in the practice management system. The Patient Care Coordinator/Receptionist also supports care coordination by relaying messages to clinical staff, assisting patients with forms and basic inquiries, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with practice policies and regulations. The role requires close collaboration with clinicians and administrative staff to support smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Strong appointment scheduling skills and experience managing calendars in a healthcare or similar setting.
- Professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle a high volume of calls with clarity, patience, and courtesy.
- Experience with care coordination, including relaying messages, assisting with referrals, and supporting follow-up care.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology, especially related to mental health or behavioral health services.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care, including empathy, discretion, and respect for diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
