Position Summary
At Tsunami Sushi, our servers are hospitality professionals who create memorable dining experiences through exceptional service, product knowledge, and genuine guest interactions. Servers are responsible for providing attentive, efficient, and friendly service while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Essential Responsibilities
• Welcome every guest with a warm and friendly attitude.
• Guide guests through the menu, offering knowledgeable recommendations on sushi, kitchen entrees, beverages, sake, wine, beer, and cocktails.
• Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring accuracy and presentation.
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and respond quickly to requests or concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked section.
• Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned.
• Follow all Utah alcohol service laws, including verifying identification and serving alcohol responsibly.
• Process guest payments accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, service stations, and dining areas.
• Communicate effectively with hosts, bartenders, sushi chefs, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
• Assist teammates whenever needed to provide an exceptional guest experience.
• Uphold Tsunami Sushi's standards of hospitality, food safety, and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
• Previous serving experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude with a strong commitment to hospitality.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Knowledge & Expectations

Servers are expected to:

• Follow all company policies, health department regulations, and Utah DABS requirements.

Physical Requirements
• Stand and walk for up to 8–10 hours.
• Frequently carry trays, dishes, and beverages weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
