Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a strong understanding of food safety and meal preparation techniques. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that every plate meets our standards of excellence.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Support dietary aides in preparing meals that meet specific dietary requirements when necessary.
  • Participate in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the food industry, preferably in a fine dining setting.
  • Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A passion for cooking and helping others enjoy exceptional meals.

Qualifications:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina

  • Maintain all certification requirements. Submit new food handlers/ alcohol certification prior to the expiration date

  • Abide by Tsunami Rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook
  • Abide by state and federal regulations regarding all restaurant operation, safety, and sanitation.
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Cooks to prepare meals during our dining hours
  • Maintain accurate food inventories
  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
  • Rotate stock items as per established procedures
  • Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
  • Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
