Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Japanese Technical Translator to join our multilingual team. In this role, you will be responsible for translating technical documents, manuals, and communication materials from Japanese to English and vice versa. Your expertise will ensure clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate translations that support our engineering, manufacturing, and R&D teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your linguistic skills in a fast-paced, international environment while contributing to the development of top-tier automotive products.

Responsibilities

• Translate technical documents, manuals, specifications, and communication materials between Japanese and English with precision and clarity
• Proofread and review translated content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to technical terminology standards
• Interpret complex technical discussions during meetings or collaborative sessions for bilingual teams
• Transcribe audio recordings of technical discussions or instructions as needed
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to understand context and terminology requirements
• Maintain organized translation memory databases for efficient future reference
• Support cross-cultural communication efforts by providing interpretation services when required
• Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents.
• Conduct research, assemble and analyze data to prepare reports and documents.
• Manage and maintain executives schedules, appointments and travel arrangements.
• Arrange and coordinate meetings and events.
• Answer and manage incoming calls.
• Greet and interact with incoming visitors.
• Coordinate special projects.
• Assist in after hour events, such as picking up visitors, business dinner, etc.
• Provide administrative support to all departments in the organization.
• Review operating practices and implement improvements where necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Japanese technical translator or linguist specializing in engineering or manufacturing contexts
• Strong proficiency in both Japanese and English languages, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical content accurately and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills with an eye for detail and cultural nuance
• Experience with proofreading, transcription, interpretation, and translation tools/software is preferred
• Background in linguistics or related fields is highly desirable
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Flexibility to travel between Mexico and USA facilities.

• It is an essential function of this position that Associate be on the work site in person to perform their job duties throughout each scheduled work week because Ts Tech operates most effectively with the kind of teamwork, personal interaction, and supervision that simply cannot be had in a home office situation.
