TSR Consulting is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Azure Solution Architect for a long-term opportunity with our client.

Position Title: Senior Azure Solution Architect

Location: NYC, NY/Hybrid 3 days onsite

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Expected Duration: 12 Months

Job Type: Fully Hybrid 3 days onsite

Pay Range: $70-$75/hr

About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Azure Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Microsoft Azure architecture, modern web application design across frontend and backend stacks, DevSecOps, and cloud governance and a proven ability to lead enterprise cloud modernization, align architecture with business goals, and deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end Azure architectures across compute, networking, identity, storage, integration, security, and application services.
• Analyze current environments, enterprise standards, and business requirements to define scalable solution architectures.
• Document functional, technical, integration, and non-functional requirements for cloud and application solutions.
• Establish and lead collaboration frameworks with architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and business teams.
• Create prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and reference architectures to validate approaches.
• Participate in technology evaluations and selections for platforms, frameworks, integration patterns, and tooling.
• Lead modernization of enterprise web applications, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native platforms.
• Define frontend and backend standards for scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
• Guide teams on responsive web apps, API design, authentication flows, state management, and performance optimization.
• Architect secure solutions using Azure Entra ID, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and Zero Trust principles.
• Oversee development to ensure alignment with standards, security controls, scalability, and business objectives.
• Design and oversee CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Support planning, coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication for delivery.
• Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, and cloud readiness evaluations.
• Mentor architects and developers and drive technical standards and governance.
• Evaluate emerging Azure and web technologies and recommend adoption strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 8 years in IT architecture, infrastructure engineering, cloud development, software engineering, or solution architecture.
• 5 years of hands-on Microsoft Azure architecture experience.
• Strong design experience for modern web applications across frontend and backend stacks.
• Expertise with RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
• Frontend experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Backend experience with .NET, Node.js, Java, or Python.
• Deep Azure knowledge: App Services, AKS, Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, and Monitor.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and release management.
• Experience leading enterprise solution delivery and multi-team initiatives.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, disaster recovery, high availability, and governance controls.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Must have: 3 years with C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery. Microsoft .NET and Microsoft .NET Architecture.

Preferred Skills:

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments, including Azure and Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Background supporting regulated or large-scale enterprise environments.
