TSR Consulting is currently seeking a highly motivated SCADA System Administrator for a long-term opportunity with our client.

Position Title: SCADA System Administrator Senior

Location: Bronx, NY/Hybrid 3 days onsite

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Expected Duration: 24 Months

Job Type: Fully Hybrid 3 days onsite

Pay Range: $70-$75/hr

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Administrator Senior (SCADA) to join our team. The candidate will design, program, and implement new SCADA systems and provide daily operational support for existing systems. The role requires strong experience with AVEVA Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS DNA), HMI development, realtime and historical databases, gas measurement metering, and RTU/PLC protocols, with a proven ability to maintain reliable SCADA operations, troubleshoot software and server issues, and support safe pipeline operations in coordination with Gas Control.

Responsibilities:

• Design, program, and implement new SCADA systems for gas operations.
• Provide day-to-day operational support for existing SCADA environments.
• Maintain currency with automation designs, equipment, and industry trends.
• Develop HMI displays and implement realtime databases.
• Configure historical database interfaces and reporting solutions.
• Troubleshoot SCADA software and server issues to restore service.
• Partner with Field Technicians to configure, test, and troubleshoot RTU data polling.
• Coordinate with Gas Control to support safe pipeline operations.
• Program wireless modems such as Sierra Wireless and Digi.
• Build, configure, and maintain operational and compliance reports.
• Document changes, obtain approvals, and submit change requests.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency with AVEVA Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS DNA).
• Expertise in HMI display development and realtime database implementation.
• Experience with historical database interfaces and reporting.
• Knowledge of gas measurement metering in utility operations.
• In-depth knowledge of RTU/PLC protocols including Modbus, DNP3, and BSAP.
• Ability to troubleshoot SCADA software and server issues.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a small team.
• Comfort with hybrid work arrangements.

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to interpret, modify, and write scripts and SQL queries.
• Clear communication with Gas Control and field operations; control room experience.
• Experience in regulated operating environments and utility field operations.
• Experience building, configuring, and maintaining reports.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and IT technologies.
• Process documentation skills for workflows, changes, approvals, and submissions.
• Programming of wireless modems such as Sierra Wireless and Digi.
