Job Description:

We are seeking a Mainframe Entry Level Operator/Technician to join our dynamic team within the Command Center of a large, 24x7 multinational bank holding company where mainframe availability is mission critical. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IBM Z mainframe concepts, z/OS fundamentals, batch processing, and operational support and a proven ability to follow procedures, safeguard privileged access, and adhere to security and operational policies in a hybrid, collaborative environment. This role follows a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days per week onsite in New York, NY and requires effective remote collaboration using phone, chat, Teams, and Zoom. Training will be supplied and extensive.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor mainframe systems, batch jobs, and schedules in a 24x7 Command Center environment.

• Execute operational procedures and escalate incidents according to defined runbooks and policies.

• Perform initial triage of batch and data transfer issues and coordinate with support teams.

• Document actions, update Service-Now tickets, and maintain accurate procedural documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail with clear English written and verbal communication.

• Ability to follow security, cybersecurity, and operational policy requirements.

• Familiarity with Windows tools and MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.

• Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of IBM Z Mainframe and z/OS, OS/390 operations, and JCL with batch diagnostic skills.

• Experience with data transfer protocols such as NDM and FTP.

• Experience with OPC/TWS scheduling and Service-Now ticketing.

• Background in financial services operations.

• Agile training and proficiency with Teams and Zoom.
