Our client, a leading education/publishing company is seeking a Royalty Portfolio Analyst on a long term contracting basis
This is a remote position (EST hours are preferred)
Responsibilities
- Daily monitoring of the Royalty Transmittal application for new Contract/Title submissions to be set up in the royalty system. Assess the submitted transmittal information for completeness.
- Review the provided information (publishing agreement(s), amendment(s), titles, and any other documents) and enter the terms in the royalty system.
- Initiate and interact directly with the business unit / editorial, finance, and product teams, as well as Corporate Legal, with any contractual term or product questions / clarifications to ensure the terms are set up accurately in the royalty system.
- Receive and act on all inquiries received from external customers (authors, royalty recipients, agents) and internal customers (portfolio management / Editorial, Finance, Corporate Legal, and Corporate Audit) related to the royalty statements, payments, and portfolio/program.
- Prepare supporting documentation for author-initiated requests related to establishing Estates, Trusts, and Assignment of Rights related to the authors account in accordance with client policies/requirements.
- Assist with reviewing monthly unmatched sales reports for titles in the assigned portfolios/programs and take necessary steps to research and resolve the items.
- Work on any projects and/or initiatives assigned by the manager or director.
- Assist with servicing 3rd Party Audit requests being conducted on behalf of an author including compiling, preparing and providing requested documentation.

- Also comfortable with other systems - like Oracle or SAP -Prior work experience in royalties, publishing, editorial, legal, or accounting fields a plus.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Business Law and legal intent regarding such topics as copyrights, tax implications, estate settlements, assignment of ownership is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills are required as the position has direct contact with authors and will project and affect the impression an author will have of the Client.
- Position is also required to work in a collaborative environment with portfolio management, finance, and legal teams in addressing the alignment of product/sales channels with the publishing agreement and the technical considerations for set up in the royalty system.
- Strong analytical skills are required as the incumbent will have to extract and analyze large volumes of detailed transactional activity for author accounts when investigating inquiries and/or assisting with audits.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Business Law and legal intent regarding such topics as copyrights, tax implications, estate settlements, assignment of ownership is a plus.
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Prior work experience in royalties, publishing, editorial, legal, or accounting fields a plus.
Pay: 29-31/hr.
