What are the responsibilities and job description for the EBO / Mask Reticle Technician position at TSMC and Careers?
Are you curious, detail-oriented, and eager to work with cutting-edge technology? Are you looking to kickstart or grow your career in a role where every shift contributes to innovations that impact millions of lives? If so, TSMC Arizona is looking for you!
As an EBO Process Technician, you’ll work onsite at our advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in Phoenix, Arizona, playing a key role in ensuring the quality of mask reticles—a critical tool in the chip-making process. (Think of mask reticles as ultra-precise stencils that help create the intricate patterns on silicon wafers that make modern tech possible!)
This is a fully paid, hands-on role from day one, with comprehensive training provided—no prior semiconductor experience required. Whether you have experience in clean rooms, manufacturing, or technical processes, or simply a STEM-related background and a passion for solving problems, you’ll thrive here.
What You'll Do:
- Monitor & Troubleshoot Systems: Operate automated tools and systems to ensure they’re functioning correctly. When errors pop up, you’ll follow step-by-step troubleshooting procedures to fix the issue and keep production running smoothly.
- Learn & Rotate Across Functions: Through our structured 6–12-month training program, you’ll master all parts of the mask reticle process—inspection, cleaning, repair, and manufacturing. You’ll rotate responsibilities to gain a full understanding of the workflow.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with your team to ensure production goals are met. You’ll document daily activities and pass on key information to teammates during shift changes.
- Analyze Data: Use computer programs like Excel to collect, review, and analyze process data, ensuring everything meets strict production standards.
What Makes This Role Unique:
You won’t just be sitting at a machine or fixing tools. This job is about problem-solving, precision, and teamwork—analyzing systems, optimizing processes, and ensuring quality every step of the way. You’ll be part of the team that powers the creation of chips for AI, smartphones, autonomous vehicles, and more.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for early-career professionals with a passion for technology, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed:
Must-Haves:
- Legal Work Eligibility: You must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Teamwork & Reliability: At least 2 years of experience working in a team environment, whether in manufacturing, technical roles, or other collaborative settings.
- Attention to Detail: You’re quality-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable following procedures to ensure standards are met.
- Shift Availability: You must be willing to work 12–13-hour night shifts (3–4 days per week).
- Comfort with Clean Room Environments: You’ll wear cleanroom gear (head-to-toe suit) and spend your shifts walking or standing in a controlled environment.
Nice-to-Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
- STEM Background: An associate degree, technical certification, or coursework in science, technology, engineering, or math.
- Manufacturing Experience: Any experience working with automated systems, clean rooms, or technical processes is a bonus.
What You’ll Get:
- Paid Training: You’ll receive hands-on training and mentorship during a 6–12-month program that combines classroom learning, on-the-job training, and structured workflows to set you up for success.
- Impactful Work: Your contributions will directly impact the creation of chips that power devices and technologies millions rely on every day.
- Access to benefits from day one.
