Job Summary
The Material Transporter is a person who is responsible for safely and efficiently moving goods, materials, and products from one location to another, using various machinery like forklifts and pallet jacks or by hand. Key responsibilities include loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles, organizing and storing materials in warehouses, maintaining an inventory of goods, and adhering to strict workplace safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure the integrity of the materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Regular attendance is essential as outline in the Resolute Employee Handbook.
- Works in a team environment to ensure helpers understand their role and knows what precautions are necessary to safely operate and navigate material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Understands and interprets company pick tickets and quality control procedures.
- Works efficiently and accurately to achieve and maintain 100% of goals. Provides materials when needed and prepares skids as needed by machine operators.
- Transport pallets from one facility to another.
- Packages specific number of parts on skids, in bags, boxes, etc. and ensures they are labeled correctly. Also, stacks bags of parts on racks or in the appropriate locations.
- Ensures that safety devices are in place and reports any unsafe behavior or situation.
- Is aware of activities in work surroundings and is responsible for keeping the area clean, tidy, and safe to maintain 5S standards.
- Other tasks assigned by shift supervisor.
- Must have ability to read/write and interpret documents. (Safety rules, operating/procedure instructions, customer prints, etc.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Lift upwards of 50lbs every day at a moderate to fast pace.
- Bending, twisting and turning.
- Full use of both hands – to handle, feel objects, tools, controls, etc.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervision and management.
- Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations
- Must understand equipment and trailer lock out procedures.
- Physical stamina and strength
