Tax Preparer

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, accounting principles, and financial software. This role involves assisting clients with tax filings, ensuring compliance with current regulations, and providing exceptional customer service. The Tax Preparer will also support various financial and accounting functions, utilizing their expertise in public accounting, bookkeeping, and financial analysis to deliver accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, business, and corporate tax returns accurately and efficiently using tax software and accounting tools such as QuickBooks and Sage.
• Review financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and bank statements to gather relevant data for tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while maximizing deductions and credits for clients.
• Assist clients in understanding their financial situations by providing clear explanations of tax implications and financial concepts.
• Maintain organized records of all tax documents and client communications for audit readiness.
• Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure accurate filings.
• Support marketing efforts by promoting additional financial services such as bookkeeping or consulting when appropriate.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes related to tax preparation and financial analysis.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of tax preparation procedures and experience with tax software.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or other financial management tools.
• Solid understanding of public accounting principles, corporate accounting, and bookkeeping practices.
• Familiarity with financial concepts including analysis skills, math proficiency, and 10 key typing accuracy.
• Experience with financial sales strategies and marketing techniques to promote services effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
• Ability to analyze financial data accurately while paying close attention to detail.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
