This is a temporary contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please Apply Now!Position Title: Survey TakerLocation: Oakland, CA 94612Duration: 260 hours up to 960 hoursWork Schedule: 18 hours per week {Actual work schedule will vary weekly and includes weekday and weekend shifts as well as shifts that start prior to 8 AM and those that end after 10 PM}Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:Duties:Reach out to riders on trains to solicit participation in the Passenger Experience Survey.Accurately enter information collected on board and assist with administrative activities on office shifts.Notes:Candidate Experience RequirementsMinimum of 1 year full-time verifiable experience in outside sales or a similar role.Must have prior experience initiating contact and engaging in-person with people from diverse backgrounds.Preference for individuals with proven ability to proactively approach and interact with strangers — not just strong interpersonal skills, but comfort with cold engagement.Physical RequirementsMust be capable of walking or standing for extended periods of time.Ability to sit is not considered particularly relevant for this role and can be omitted.Additional Duties:1. Approaches riders throughout the system to solicit their participation in surveys.2. Coordinates with field partner to follow assigned detailed schedule and car dispatch assignment to ensure random sampling of riders.3. Performs data entry of collected survey data and data quality control.4. Recommends and implements improvements to survey and reports; conducts specialized surveys as assigned.5. Travels to assigned areas in a timely manner.6. Collects survey data in a variety of District locations including trains and transit stations to record riders' opinion of District-wide system service areas and performanceTo be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]Education:Possession of a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent.Knowledge and SkillsKnowledge of:Basic office practices and procedures, including filing, record keeping and the operation of standard office equipment.Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.Basic business data processing principles and the use of spreadsheet and word processing applications.Business letter writing and the standard format for typed materials.Business arithmetic including compilation of basic statistical records.Sales or in-person presentation principles and practices.Skill/ Ability in:Efficiently utilize spreadsheets, word processing and other software programs.Understanding and carrying out oral and written directions.Maintaining accurate records and files.Making accurate arithmetic calculations.Performing detailed clerical work accurately.Maintaining attention to detail despite interruptions.Communicating tactfully and effectively with customers.Reviewing survey results and recommending and implementing improvements in survey methods and reports.Interacting with a diverse group of riders on trains and in stations.Demonstrate strong in-person sales or presentation skills and the ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.Tryfacta is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer.
