Job Summary

We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Security Guard to uphold safety and security across our facilities. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for monitoring premises, controlling access points, and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and assets. Your keen eye for detail, quick response to incidents, and strong customer service skills will contribute to a secure environment where everyone feels protected and valued. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to serve as the frontline defender of our organization’s safety standards.

Would you describe yourself as someone who can:

• Greet and check in/check out associates, visitors, vendors, contractors, and drives in a courteous, professional, manner; verify identification, record entries in the visitor log, and escort guests as required.
• Create, issue, and activate and deactivate associate and visitor ID badges using the badge/access control system; enforce company ID/Badge procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises using CCTV surveillance systems and physical security checks to identify potential risks or breaches.
• Manage access control systems to authorize entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while maintaining detailed logs.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies by following established procedures, including fire drills, medical incidents, or security breaches.
• Write comprehensive incident reports documenting any suspicious activity, accidents, or security violations with clarity and accuracy.
• Receive, log, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages; notify recipients promptly and coordinate outgoing mail and parcel with carriers.
• Utilize law enforcement coordination when necessary to handle serious incidents or investigations.
• Operate emergency response equipment such as AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), fire extinguishers, Taser devices, and firearms where authorized and trained.
• Assist in performing heavy lifting or manual handling tasks safely during security setups or incident management.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with directions or inquiries while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and escalating trespassing, security and safety concerns to management or authorities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area, and keep visitor logs, and front desk supplies up to date.
• Conduct routine patrolling activities both indoors and outdoors to maintain physical security across all areas of the facility.
• Maintain organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Would you describe yourself as someone who has:

• Prior experience in security roles within warehouse environments, military settings, or law enforcement agencies is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of surveillance techniques using CCTV cameras and access control systems.
• Training in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation, and emergency response procedures is desired.
• Familiarity with conflict de-escalation tactics and conflict management strategies to handle difficult situations effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
• Proficiency with systems including CCTV/video management, badge creation and access control software, visitor management systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong Communication skills, both oral and written, with a professional demeanor
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure, use sound judgement, and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting, prolonged patrols, and manual handling tasks safely is required.
