Production Assistant
Position Summary:
A New York-based wholesale and design company is seeking a detail-oriented Production Assistant to provide administrative support to our Production team. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining accurate production data, updating WIP reports, organizing, and tracking samples, and assisting with daily communication with factories. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain production spreadsheets, order information, and internal records.
- Update and maintain the Work in Progress (WIP) report to ensure production information is current and accurate.
- Receive, organize, label, package, and ship product samples.
- Track sample requests and maintain sample logs.
- Assist with sample approvals and follow up on outstanding sample requests.
- Reply to routine factory emails regarding samples, production updates, shipping information, and general inquiries.
- Help organize factory correspondence and maintain production documentation.
- Maintain digital and physical production files.
- Assist the Production team with administrative support and other assigned tasks.
- Communicate with internal departments to help ensure production information is accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Comfortable with data entry and administrative tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office. A2000 would be a plus.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft professional emails.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Previous administrative, office, or production support experience is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with product samples or inventory is a plus.
- Experience in apparel, manufacturing, or product development is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes.
