Trustpoint is excited to partner with a growing legal services organization in its search for a Single Event Claims Manager to join its Newark, NJ office. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced legal professional with a strong background in personal injury, medical malpractice, or insurance defense who enjoys managing cases from intake through resolution while serving as a trusted resource for claimants and legal stakeholders. Location: Newark, NJ (Fully Onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000, depending on experience, plus an annual incentive bonus opportunity of up to $25,000, paid quarterly based on performance
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of single-event injury matters from intake through settlement and/or trial.
- Conduct claimant interviews and ongoing follow-up regarding personal injury, catastrophic injury, nursing home abuse, and other injury-related claims.
- Coordinate investigations throughout all stages of the case, including intake, pre-litigation, litigation, and trial preparation.
- Obtain, organize, and track medical records and other case-related documentation.
- Review and annotate medical records in accordance with established procedures.
- Draft pleadings, discovery responses, interrogatories, correspondence, and other litigation-related documents.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for claimants, insurance adjusters, defense counsel, medical providers, court personnel, and other outside parties.
- Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and maintain accurate case notes and documentation.
- Keep claimants informed throughout the life of the case while ensuring matters continue progressing efficiently.
- Communicate case developments and recommendations to leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve case management processes and contribute to workflow enhancements.
- Perform additional case management responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree preferred.
- Significant experience supporting Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Insurance Defense, or a related litigation practice.
- Experience managing cases from inception through settlement and/or trial.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, claimant communication, and case management best practices.
- Experience drafting pleadings, discovery documents, and other litigation materials.
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with legal case management software, e-filing platforms, and Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.
