Trustpoint is excited to partner with a growing legal services organization in its search for a Single-Event Claim Investigator to join its Newark, NJ office. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience supporting personal injury, medical malpractice, or insurance defense matters who enjoys working directly with claimants, coordinating investigations, and helping move cases from intake through resolution. This is a fully onsite position offering a collaborative team environment, strong bonus potential, and excellent benefits.
Location: Newark, NJ (Fully Onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Salary: $50,000 – $65,000, depending on experience, plus a bi-weekly bonus opportunity of up to $900 per pay period
Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews with claimants and their representatives regarding personal injury and other single-event claims.
- Support cases through all stages, including intake, investigation, pre-litigation, litigation, settlement, and trial preparation.
- Coordinate claimant medical treatment updates and maintain ongoing communication throughout the life of each case.
- Request, obtain, organize, and track medical records and other supporting documentation.
- Review and annotate medical records in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain detailed case notes and ensure files remain organized and up to date.
- Communicate with claimants, insurance adjusters, defense counsel, medical providers, court personnel, and other parties.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate case-related activities.
- Keep supervisors informed of case developments and communicate important updates.
- Help ensure cases continue progressing efficiently by providing proactive follow-up and outstanding client service.
- Assist with additional case management and investigative responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree preferred.
- Prior experience in Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Insurance Defense, or a related legal practice area.
- Strong understanding of the life cycle of injury claims from intake through resolution.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
- Experience reviewing medical records or supporting injury-related claims is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.
