What are the responsibilities and job description for the Defense Litigation Paralegal position at Trustpoint.One?
Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a well-established, multi-state civil litigation defense firm to find a Litigation Paralegal (Defense) for its Iselin, NJ office. This is a fully onsite role, with standard hours of 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, offering the opportunity to support a dynamic and fast-paced litigation practice.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Independently subpoena, review, and summarize discovery responses and medical records in a thorough and organized manner
- Schedule, notice, and confirm Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs); gather and produce all related records while calendaring deadlines with strong follow-up
- Draft motions to compel, motions for sanctions, motions for extraordinary relief, and motions to enforce subpoenas
- Conduct verdict searches, docket searches, as well as social media and background investigations
Position Requirements:
- Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a defense litigation paralegal
- Experience in commercial motor vehicle defense, UM/UIM, premises liability, construction accidents, and product liability preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management systems preferred
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills; ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
