Job Title: Single-Event Claim Investigator

Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus bi-weekly bonus opportunity of up to $900 per pay period

Location: Newark, New Jersey

Work Schedule: Full-time | Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Fully onsite

Trustpoint.One is partnering with a growing legal team to identify a Single-Event Claim Investigator for a full-time, permanent opportunity in Newark, New Jersey. This role is part of the Case Management department and supports all phases of single-event injury claims, from intake and investigation through settlement or trial. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with prior experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, or insurance defense who enjoys claimant interaction, case coordination, and helping move matters forward from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with claimants or their representatives involving single-event incidents such as nursing home abuse, automobile accidents, catastrophic injuries, and general personal injury claims
• Assist with investigations throughout the life of the claim, including intake, pre-litigation, litigation, and settlement/trial support
• Coordinate and follow up on claimant treatment and ongoing case-related medical care updates
• Coordinate the retrieval of claimant records and ensure documentation is collected in a timely manner
• Review and annotate medical records in accordance with internal procedures and bookmarking protocols
• Follow pre-litigation steps and case procedures to support the progression of claims
• Serve as a point of contact for claimants, insurance adjusters, defense counsel, court clerks, process servers, and other relevant parties
• Interpret and communicate claim and case-related information to supervisors
• Schedule claimant appointments, manage calendars, and maintain detailed and current case notes
• Support case progression by keeping claimants informed and helping ensure matters continue moving forward efficiently

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred
• Prior experience in Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, or Insurance Defense
• Strong understanding of how claims and litigation matters progress from intake through resolution
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Empathetic and patient approach when working with claimants and their representatives
• Highly organized with strong time management and follow-up abilities
• Detail-oriented and comfortable following established procedures and workflows
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong data entry and administrative skills, with experience using legal and case management software
• Experience reviewing medical records or supporting injury-related claims is a plus
