The Company
This is a leading AI company operating at the forefront of generative voice technology and deepfake detection. The team builds industry leading text to speech systems alongside advanced voice security and detection platforms used by governments and enterprises globally.
With $15M raised to date and positioned between Series A and Series B, the company is entering a critical growth phase. Engineering sits at the core of the business, with a strong technical culture and a compact team of 30 people.
Decisions made now will directly shape how voice AI products are built, scaled, and deployed in real-world environments.
The Opportunity:
This is a brand new Full Stack Team Lead role with significant hands on ownership. You will act as both a senior individual contributor and a technical leader, guiding a small team while remaining deeply involved in product development.
You will work across the full stack, spanning Rails backend systems, React frontend applications, and Python services that support generative AI workflows. The role is highly product driven and execution focused, with close collaboration across product, design, ML, and executive leadership.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building and shipping, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to lead by example in a fast-moving start-up environment.
What You Will Do:
- Act as a hands on technical lead across frontend and backend systems
- Lead and mentor a small team of 3 to 4 engineers
- Build and ship end to end product features across Rails, React, and Python services
- Drive delivery cadence by keeping scope tight, unblocking work, and pushing releases
- Use GenAI tools daily to accelerate development, including code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and design exploration
- Partner closely with product, design, go to market, and ML teams to turn customer feedback into shipped improvements
- Own meaningful product areas and iterate quickly based on real customer usage
- Improve reliability, performance, testing coverage, instrumentation, and developer tooling
- Help scale engineering practices, standards, and processes as the company grows
- Collaborate directly with ML leads and executive leadership on technical direction
What We’re Looking For:
- Deep experience in at least two of the following: Ruby on Rails, React, Python, with confidence ramping in the third
- Prior experience leading, mentoring, or acting as a technical owner for other engineers
- Strong product sense with the ability to make pragmatic UX and scope trade-offs
- Background as an individual contributor before stepping into leadership
- Comfortable working in ambiguity with a bias toward action and ownership
- Enjoys working in person with a small, fast-moving team
- Start-up experience in a high ownership environment
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with speech or audio products, including TTS, voice UX, or real time systems
- Experience integrating model APIs or building internal tooling for ML product teams
- Python heavy backend or service experience
- Previous experience scaling early-stage products and engineering teams
