Sidewalk Snow & Ice Technician
Location: Westmoreland County, PA (Commercial Sites Only)
Employment Type: Seasonal / On-Call (overnights, weekends, holidays as needed)
TruScape is a locally trusted landscape maintenance company serving Westmoreland and Allegheny counties. When winter hits, we shift into snow and ice management—keeping commercial properties safe, accessible, and professional through every storm.
As a Sidewalk Snow & Ice Technician, you’ll join a rapid-response crew responsible for clearing and treating walkways, entrances, and stairs at commercial properties. This is hands-on, physically demanding work in cold, fast-changing conditions. You will use tools such as shovels, ice scrapers, ice melt spreaders, snow blowers, and sidewalk machines (e.g., Ventrac) and apply salt, calcium, or brine to maintain safe conditions.
- Clear sidewalks, entrances, and stairs using hand tools or powered equipment
- Apply de-icing materials (salt, calcium, brine) as directed
- Assist with loading, unloading, and basic equipment care
- Follow safe work practices around vehicles and pedestrians
- Communicate readiness, arrival, and completion via phone/text as directed
- Report hazards, site conditions, and any property damage immediately
Typical Schedule: On-call based on weather; most shifts occur overnight or early morning, including weekends and holidays during snow events.

- Reliable, punctual, and responsive—snow work happens at irregular hours
- Comfortable working outdoors in freezing temperatures and adverse conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods
- Dependable transportation to the shop or assigned site
- Working cell phone for dispatch and coordination
- Experience with snow removal equipment is a plus (not required)
- Willingness to work overnight, weekends, and holidays when storms occur
- Authorized to work in the United States
