Second Assistant Golf Professional

POSITION PURPOSE:

As a Second Assistant Golf Professional, you will strive to ensure each golfer has a flawless golf experience, from arrival to departure.  All guests should be provided a warm welcome upon first contact and our luxury service standards should continue throughout their stay.  The Second Assistant Golf Professional works alongside all other resort team members to ensure the golf operation runs smooth while consistently seeking to improve the overall guest and member golf experience. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Interviews, hires, trains, direct and supervises a staff for the purpose of delivering 5 star service standards and a high quality golf experience.  
• Oversees the scheduling of staffs to ensure proper coverage is maintained based on the volume of play and groups.  Establishes customer service standards and ensures that the proper LSOP’s are followed for each area. 
  1. GBS Team (AM & PM supervisors GBS staff members) 
• Manages and maintains Bag Room Storage.  In coordination with membership golf operations team, maintains bag inventory and upkeep.  Is responsible for the inventory control of the rental bags and rental bag process.  
• Manages golf bag shipping processes.  In coordination with Shipsticks, Fedex and the AM/PM supervisor teams, builds and maintains bag shipping process.
• Display a professional appearance and attitude, and remain courteous to guests at all times.
• Perform efficiently and effectively the opening and closing golf operation procedures daily to ensure a well maintained and tight operation. 
• Provide a warm welcome to all golf members and guests and immediately inquire as to how we can offer assistance or support.   
• Act as a leader on the golf professional teams an act as a liaison between the different departments.  
• Work with management to identify areas of service opportunities and develop plans to execute.
• Ensure you and your team can provide directions to the first tee, driving range, putting greens, RSGPC, Spa, restrooms, membership clubhouse, restaurants, meeting rooms.  
• Speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all others in the retail and golf operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the outside operation to perimeter golf shop patio area and Blue Monster Shop, cart staging area, putting green, first tees of courses, cart barn, bag room, etc.
• Professionally wear assigned uniform.
• Perform any number of reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing to enhance the golf operation and retail experience. 

OTHER:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.   Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the industry, that we are in a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

• Potential areas of support may include GBS, starter/ranger, concierge, driving range, concessions.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

Assimilate into Trump National Doral Miami Cultural Foundation through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of the Trump Cornerstones. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Class PGA A Professional

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent. 

EXPERIENCE

At least 1 year in golf operations

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
