Job Responsibilities
The School of Business and Professional Studies at Truman State University seeks applicants for non-tenure track, 9-month Instructor position in Communication Disorders to start August 2027.
This position is a full-time, nine-month appointment located on Truman’s campus in Kirksville, Missouri. In addition to the duties and responsibilities described below, faculty are expected to contribute to the campus culture of the Liberal Arts and Sciences and interdisciplinarity by teaching in the University’s core curriculum (The Dialogues) and contributing to interdisciplinary initiatives and coursework as needed. There is potential for a successful candidate to develop a collaborative relationship with the new Greenwood Autism Center.
Non-tenure-track, term Instructor appointments are subject to annual renewal. The initial term of the appointment is three years. Additional three-year terms may continue indefinitely based on the needs and budget of the university and positive performance review.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will contribute to the Communication Disorders program by offering undergraduate and graduate courses in speech-language pathology. The position is expected to teach 12 credit hours per semester. Clinical instruction is expected of all Communication Disorders (CMDS) full-time faculty and is included in overall course load calculation. The CMDS MA program runs year-round, requiring at least part-time clinical instruction duties in the summer of most academic years. Faculty providing summer supervision will receive corresponding summer compensation.

The University: Truman State University is home to a vibrant educational community. Our approximately 3,000 students thrive in a challenging, yet supportive, academic environment.
