CONTRACT AI Governance Technical Implementation Lead

Our client, a leading global biotechnology organization advancing responsible and innovative use of AI, is seeking an AI Governance Technical Implementation Lead to help strengthen and operationalize its Responsible AI Governance Framework. In this high-impact consulting role, you will translate complex regulatory and compliance requirements into actionable technical standards for AI and machine learning systems, driving governance across change management, validation, monitoring, traceability, and continuous improvement processes. The ideal candidate brings significant demonstrated experience in IT compliance, technical policy development, and regulated environments, along with deep expertise in NIST frameworks, GxP, and GAMP 5 validation methodologies. This remote engagement offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead stakeholder workshops, and shape enterprise AI governance within a highly regulated life sciences environment.

Key Responsibilities

Development, Change Management & Traceability

• Structure and define formal change management definitions, including major vs. standard change classifications
• Map GAMP 5 validation requirements to internal systems and IT processes
• Build and document the framework for end-to-end AI lifecycle documentation and traceability
  
  

Monitoring & Performance Governance

• Outline governance standards for AI metric tracking and performance monitoring
• Define and document the process for threshold approvals aligned to Company risk standards
• Establish monitoring frequency requirements based on risk tiers
  
  

Continuous Improvement

• Design the formal process for converting incident or drift alerts into structured remediation workflows
• Ensure all continuous improvement processes align with Company risk management standards
  
  

Gap Analysis, Socialization & Alignment

• Lead socialization workshops with development teams to gather structured feedback
• Execute final revisions to governance documentation based on team input
• Verify strict alignment with NIST AI RMF 1.0 and internal RAI Risk Management Standard
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience in IT compliance, regulatory frameworks, or technical policy writing
• Deep knowledge of NIST frameworks, GxP, and GAMP 5 validation methodologies
• Demonstrated experience developing governance documentation for AI or ML systems in regulated industries
• Strong communication skills; ability to facilitate cross-functional workshops and stakeholder alignment sessions
• Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Copilot Studio, or SIMCA
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within pharma, biotech, or life sciences environments
• Working knowledge of MLOps practices and how they intersect with compliance requirements
• Prior experience with NIST AI RMF 1.0 or similar AI governance frameworks
