Our client is a growing nonprofit organization that is seeking an Accountant to join their team! This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a mission-based organization. You’ll play a key role in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and grant management, helping the Finance team maintain accuracy and compliance while contributing to meaningful work in the community.

Work arrangements: Fully on-site in SW Suburb of Chicago
Responsibilities:
- Manage AP/AR transactions, payroll support, and general accounting tasks
- Perform reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist with monthly financial reports and year-end audit preparation
- Support grant reporting and budget reconciliations
- Review payroll data for accuracy and assist with processing
- Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies
- Take initiative to learn and handle accounting responsibilities independently
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of hands-on accounting experience (AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations)
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- QuickBooks Online experience preferred
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Attention to detail, persistence, and ability to work independently
- Nonprofit experience a plus
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
