Senior Estimator – Remote / Hybrid Available

Trueline's client, a family-owned and rapidly growing heavy civil contractor with more than $100 million in completed infrastructure projects throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania, is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their expanding Preconstruction team. This remote or hybrid opportunity is ideal for an experienced heavy civil estimator who can independently lead complex bids while helping shape the future of a growing organization alongside an experienced ownership team.

What You'll Do as the Senior Estimator:

• Lead heavy civil estimates from opportunity review through final bid submission
• Analyze plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing
• Develop labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material pricing based on realistic production rates and field execution
• Evaluate constructability, sequencing, logistics, and project risks to build competitive and profitable bids
• Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
• Participate in bid strategy meetings, go/no-go discussions, and estimating reviews with company leadership
• Support project turnover by communicating estimate assumptions, budgets, and pricing strategies to operations teams
• Assist with change order pricing and estimating support throughout project execution
• Collaborate closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership to build long-term backlog and drive strategic growth

Must-Haves as the Senior Estimator:

• 7-10 years of heavy civil, highway, bridge, utility, or infrastructure estimating experience
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple estimates from concept through award
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, production rates, crew build-ups, equipment spreads, and cost analysis
• Experience preparing competitive public infrastructure bids
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Self-directed professional capable of working successfully in a remote environment with minimal supervision
• High level of integrity, accountability, and sound business judgment

Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Estimator:

• ODOT, PennDOT, DOT, or municipal infrastructure estimating experience
• Field experience in heavy civil construction
• Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree
• Experience with HeavyBid, HCSS, Bid2Win, AGTEK, or comparable estimating platforms
• Experience mentoring junior estimators or leading complex pursuits
