What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quote Estimator position at Trueline?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist customers and prospective customers in a professional manner.
- Strive for 100% customer satisfaction.
- Capitalize on opportunities to cross-sell/up-sell customers.
- Present oneself professionally on the telephone.
- Person to person representation requires a clean professional appearance.
- Development of a detailed manufacturing plan (routing) using the supplied estimating software. package and quote process to cover all job costs including:
- Material
- Labor
- Delivery time estimates
- Provide a detailed worksheet showing expected margin based on markup standards and seek signed approval if the expected profit percentage is below the set minimum.
- Provide customers with pricing to develop the manufacturing plan within a reasonable delivery date and time. Estimators are expected to meet the quote due dates originally assigned in the opportunity/quote and notify the General Manager if the dates are in jeopardy of not being met.
- Collaborate in a team environment to promote positive company growth.
- Provide customers with information regarding inconsistent blueprints and details of the issues for resolution and completion.
- Participate in and contribute to sales meetings regarding quote packages, weekly goals, ideas for process improvements and status of win/lose status of quotes. If applicable
- Work closely with General Manager and Production team to determine root causes of discrepancies in estimated costs vs actual costs and help drive improvement to increase product margins.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in metal manufacturing and Machining
- Computer literacy and ability to learn new software programs, MS Word, MS Excel at an intermediate level, Outlook.
- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems.
- Prior customer service/sales experience preferred.
