What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Manager (Construction) position at Trueline?
We are seeking a Logistics Manager/Dispatcher to join the team in Central Connecticut. This role will oversee daily equipment movement, driver assignments, transportation compliance, permitting, and related documentation. It is a hands-on opportunity for an organized transportation professional who can keep multiple moving parts on track while supporting drivers, internal teams, and outside vendors.
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate daily heavy equipment transportation and movement activities across the organization
- Plan and assign moves to company drivers based on operational needs and availability
- Coordinate with outside transportation vendors when additional capacity is required
- Prepare and distribute daily move schedules and assignments to internal stakeholders
- Monitor driver hours and scheduling to support compliance with applicable hours-of-service regulations
- Review driver timecards for accuracy, including hours worked, equipment moved, and proper coding
- Review transportation vendor invoices for accurate hours, services, and coding
- Secure required permits for equipment transportation and other commercial moves
- Manage registrations, permits, and related requirements for commercial motor vehicles
- Oversee driver and vehicle documentation, including licenses, medical cards, registrations, permits, IFTA, IRP, and related records
- Coordinate driver file administration with third-party providers supporting the organization's commercial drivers
- Maintain accurate transportation records and help ensure the fleet remains properly documented and compliant
- Serve as a central point of coordination among drivers, internal personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders
Must-Haves:
- Professional experience in transportation logistics, dispatch, fleet coordination, or a closely related field
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple moves and priorities at once
- Working knowledge of commercial driver and vehicle compliance requirements
- Experience managing transportation-related paperwork, permits, registrations, or regulatory documentation
- Ability to review timekeeping, invoices, and operational records for accuracy
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to communicate clearly with drivers, vendors, and internal teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience coordinating heavy equipment or specialized equipment transportation
- Familiarity with IFTA and IRP requirements
- Experience with commercial motor vehicle registrations and permitting
- Experience supporting CDL drivers and maintaining driver qualification documentation
- Experience working with third-party transportation providers
- Familiarity with hours-of-service requirements and commercial transportation regulations
- Previous responsibility for fleet administration or transportation compliance

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
