Trueline's client, a nationally recognized litigation firm with a strong reputation in complex civil defense matters, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its New York City team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role supports a busy toxic tort and products liability practice and offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators handling sophisticated defense matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do as the Litigation Paralegal:
- Support attorneys with all phases of litigation from case inception through resolution or trial
- Draft, review, and manage pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses
- Coordinate document collection, review, and production, including e-discovery support
- Maintain case files, litigation calendars, and court deadlines
- Assist with deposition preparation, exhibit management, and trial support
- Conduct factual and legal research under attorney supervision
- Prepare correspondence, status reports, and other case-related documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and court personnel
- Help manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced defense litigation environment
Must-Haves as the Litigation Paralegal:
- 2 years of litigation paralegal experience
- Experience supporting defense-side liability matters
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, and case management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and litigation support tools
Nice-to-Haves as the Litigation Paralegal:
- Experience supporting toxic tort, asbestos, or products liability matters
- Trial preparation experience
- Experience with e-discovery platforms and document review workflows
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
