General Liability Associate Attorney

Trueline’s client, a national defense litigation firm with deep experience, is seeking an Associate Attorney, Civil Litigation to join their team in West Los Angeles. This role offers the chance to handle a wide array of high exposure matters—like product liability and premises liability—in a hybrid work setting, all while receiving meaningful mentorship and hands on responsibility.

What You’ll Do as the Associate Attorney, Civil Litigation:

• Assist in defending complex cases—such as product liability, wrongful death, warranty, premises liability, and similar high exposure actions

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents

• Manage and respond to written discovery, take and defend depositions, and assist with trial preparation

• Collaborate closely with supervising partners in case management, court appearances, and trial involvement

• Own projects proactively and contribute to client delivery in a team oriented environment

Must Haves as the Associate Attorney, Civil Litigation:

• Active California bar license

• At least 3 years of civil defense litigation experience (including drafting, motion practice, written discovery, depositions, and trial preparation)

• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities

• Excellent multitasking skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Confident interpersonal and presentation skills

• Consistent record of high quality, proactive work

Nice to Haves as the Associate Attorney, Civil Litigation:

• Prior exposure to or interest in high stakes litigation in product liability, premises liability, or wrongful death

• Trial participation experience or eagerness to take on trial responsibilities

• Business development or client origination interest or experience
