Trueline's client, a global provider of custom automation and manufacturing systems, is seeking an Electrical Technician II to join their team in a hands-on, production-focused environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and troubleshooting electrical systems while contributing to complex automation projects used around the world.
What You'll Do as the Electrical Technician II:
- Build and wire electrical control panels, PLC cabinets, and HMI enclosures from engineering drawings
- Install and integrate motors, sensors, drives, and control components into automated systems
- Execute power and control wiring across full machine builds, including transformers and distribution systems
- Partner with engineering and project teams to review updates and implement design changes
- Support system setup, testing, and machine cycling alongside project leads
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and assist with configuration and validation of devices
- Mentor junior technicians and support skill development across the team
- Contribute to standardization efforts and best practices in wiring and assembly
- Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Complete documentation and checklists in compliance with quality standards
- Apply continuous improvement practices including Lean and 5S
- Assist with mechanical assembly tasks as needed to support production timelines
Must-Haves as the Electrical Technician II:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, or automation environments
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering documentation
- Experience with control panels, industrial wiring, and system integration
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Associate's degree in an electrical or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Ability to work in a physically active environment (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing)
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Commitment to safety standards and proper PPE usage
Nice-to-Haves as the Electrical Technician II:
- Experience working with PLC-based systems and industrial automation equipment
- Familiarity with BOMs, engineering change processes, and procurement basics
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives
- Prior experience mentoring or training junior technicians
- Experience supporting on-site installations or field service work
