Trueline's client, a growing, family-owned specialty construction company serving multifamily and commercial projects, is seeking an Accounting and HR Administrator to join its Charlotte, NC team. This hybrid position supports payroll, accounting, and day-to-day HR administration while working closely with the company's lead accounting professional. The right person will enjoy variety, take ownership of important details, and thrive in a collaborative small-office environment.
What You'll Do as the Accounting and HR Administrator:
- Process recurring payroll accurately and on schedule for office and field employees
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, payments, billing records, and follow-up
- Maintain organized payroll, accounting, employee, and project documentation
- Assist with onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and routine HR requests
- Provide responsive support to a field workforce that includes Spanish-speaking employees
- Help track project expenses, cost codes, and job-costing information
- Enter and maintain information in QuickBooks and other business systems
- Partner directly with the head of accounting to keep deadlines, records, and financial processes on track
- Pitch in across accounting, HR, and office administration as the company continues to grow
Must-Haves as the Accounting and HR Administrator:
- Previous experience supporting payroll, bookkeeping, accounting administration, or a combination of accounting and HR responsibilities
- Hands-on exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring deadlines
- Comfort handling confidential employee and financial information
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting or payroll software
- A dependable, adaptable approach suited to a small business where team members wear multiple hats
- Clear communication skills and a service-oriented attitude
- Ability to work from the Charlotte office at least three days per week
Nice-to-Haves as the Accounting and HR Administrator:
- Experience using QuickBooks
- Accounting experience within construction, a skilled trade, general contracting, property services, or another project-based business
- Familiarity with job costing, cost codes, or project accounting
- English and Spanish bilingual communication skills
- Previous HR coordination, onboarding, or benefits administration experience
- Current notary commission

- Base salary of $60,000 to $70,000
