Trueline's client, a boutique family law firm with a strong reputation in Southern California, is seeking an Attorney to join their team in Westlake Village. This is a hands-on litigation role for an experienced family law attorney who wants meaningful client work, professional growth, and a collaborative environment without micromanagement.
What You'll Do as the Attorney:
Manage family law matters from intake through resolution, including hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
Handle discovery end to end, including drafting and responding, reviewing production, and preparing motions when needed
Prepare clear, accurate, and timely pleadings and legal documents
Develop practical case strategies focused on strong outcomes and cost efficiency for clients
Advise and support clients through emotionally complex situations with empathy and confidence
Appear in court for hearings and conferences; trial exposure without pressure to be first chair
Track billable time and manage a steady caseload independently
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff in a team-oriented environment
Mentor junior team members and assist with training as needed
Stay current on California family law developments and best practices
Must-Haves as the Attorney:
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
Active California Bar membership in good standing
5 years of family law experience
Comfort handling evidentiary hearings and contested matters
Strong written, verbal, and courtroom communication skills
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
High emotional intelligence and professionalism when working with high-conflict matters
Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
Valid California Class C driver's license and reliable transportation
Nice-to-Haves as the Attorney:
Experience working with high net worth clients
Familiarity with Clio, LawYaw, or similar case management tools

Competitive base salary range of $150,000 to $190,000
Monthly billable expectation of 100 to 120 hours with bonus potential for exceeding targets
