Duties
- Safely operate high-reach forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment such as cranes to load and unload shipments.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory movement.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently, ensuring timely shipping & receiving of goods while adhering to safety standards.
- Assist with order picking tasks, including
picker operations, to fulfill customer orders accurately. - Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely while following OSHA guidelines to prevent injuries and maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage materials handling activities within the warehouse, including stacking pallets and organizing stock for easy access.
- Operate construction-grade equipment when necessary for warehouse modifications or large-scale logistics projects.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate daily tasks, optimize workflow, and improve overall efficiency.
- Maintain equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks through regular inspections and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Support shipping & receiving functions by verifying shipments, completing documentation, and ensuring proper storage of goods.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar logistics environments with a strong understanding of warehouse operations.
- Valid certification for forklift operation; experience with crane operation is a plus.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including pallet jacks, clamp trucks, RF scanners, and load/unload procedures.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse activities and heavy machinery use.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues quickly and effectively.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory control software.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a consistent basis while maintaining attention to detail during order picking processes.
- Warehouse supervisor experience or leadership skills are advantageous for team coordination roles.
