Job Summary
TrueBlue Hunterdon Pool Care is seeking an experienced, dependable Pool Service Technician to independently handle recurring pool maintenance and assist with seasonal pool closings and openings.
This is a part-time, seasonal field position with approximately 10–30 hours per week, depending on workload and the time of season. The technician will operate a company truck, service residential pools throughout Hunterdon County, complete service reports, and communicate professionally with customers.
Pool service experience is strongly preferred, especially experience performing pool closings and winterizing plumbing and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine residential pool maintenance, including skimming, brushing, vacuuming, emptying baskets, testing water, and adding chemicals
- Inspect pumps, filters, heaters, valves, plumbing, and other pool equipment for visible issues
- Identify and report equipment problems or conditions requiring repair
- Safely transport, handle, and apply pool chemicals
- Complete residential pool closings, including winterizing plumbing lines, removing accessories, installing plugs, adding winter chemicals, and securing covers
- Assist with spring pool openings and startup service
- Operate and maintain a company truck responsibly
- Keep tools, chemicals, and equipment organized and properly stocked
- Submit complete service reports, customer notes, and required photos after each job
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding completed work and any issues discovered
- Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and service checklists
Qualifications
- Previous residential pool maintenance experience strongly preferred
- Pool closing and winterization experience highly preferred
- Ability to independently manage an assigned route
- Working knowledge of pool pumps, filters, valves, plumbing, and water chemistry
- Ability to safely handle chlorine and other pool chemicals
- Comfortable using hand tools and common pool-service equipment
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow service checklists
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Pool certifications are helpful but not required
Schedule
- Part-time and seasonal
- Approximately 10–35 hours per week
- Additional hours may be available during pool closing season
- Opportunity to return for spring openings and future pool seasons
Compensation and Benefits
- $24–$28 per hour, based on experience
- Expected starting rate around $25 per hour
