True Step, LLC is a growing, family-owned metal fabrication company based in Lebanon, Ohio. We specialize in custom steel and aluminum stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, bollards, and other specialty metal products for commercial construction and industrial customers.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist to take ownership of purchasing and supplier relationships.
Reporting directly to the President, you will work closely with estimating, project management, operations, fabrication, and other members of the team. This is an individual-contributor role with a lot of autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact on costs, supplier performance, and project execution.
What You'll Do
- Manage purchasing from initial quoting through purchase order and delivery.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, lead-times, and delivery schedules.
- Build and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships.
- Manage purchase orders, blanket orders, supplier stock, and related arrangements.
- Follow up on supplier commitments and resolve material or delivery issues.
- Work with project management and operations to understand material needs and priorities.
- Review architectural and fabrication drawings as needed to understand purchasing requirements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and help improve purchasing processes.
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of purchasing, procurement, buying, or closely related experience.
- Experience obtaining competitive quotes and negotiating pricing and terms.
- Strong organization, communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
- Experience in construction, construction metals, structural steel, architectural metals, manufacturing, or a related industry is preferred.
- Experience reading architectural or fabrication drawings is a plus.
- Experience with ComputerEase or other ERP/purchasing systems is a plus.
- OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- $60,000–$90,000 annual salary, based on experience and qualifications.
