What You'll Do:
- Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, communication, and consistent expectations.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and state regulations across all terminals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standardized safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee driver qualification files, MVR monitoring, drug & alcohol program, and HOS/ELD compliance.
- Lead accident, injury, and equipment-damage investigations and manage root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate insurance claims, incident reporting, and communication with adjusters and law enforcement.
- Manage safety training programs, including driver onboarding, annual training, and specialized instruction.
- Conduct regular terminal safety audits and implement corrective actions.
- Direct, support, and evaluate safety personnel across four terminals in Wyoming and North Dakota.
- Provide ongoing coaching, development, and training to terminal safety staff.
- Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and performance management for safety team members.
- Ensure consistent execution of safety standards, investigations, and training at all terminals.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of occupational safety experience in the transportation industry; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
- Certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Hazwoper not required but must be obtained within 60 days of starting and kept current.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Ability to travel to terminal locations in Wyoming and North Dakota.
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check, and drug/alcohol test.
