What You'll Do:
- Prepare, draft, and submit federal and state permit applications for pipeline and facility projects.
- Develop environmental assessments, technical reports, and complete permitting packages.
- Ensure all permitting documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines.
- Maintain organized electronic and hard copy permit files, tracking systems, and compliance logs in accordance with company records management standards.
- Serve as primary liaison with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and other regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate and facilitate agency meetings, communications, and information requests.
- Lead and support NEPA and MEPA compliance activities, including EIS and EA development.
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulations to project execution.
- Apply Montana Facility Siting Act (MFSA) requirements to routing and facility siting decisions.
- Ensure compliance with Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and other state agencies.
- Monitor environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle and maintain required documentation.
- Identify compliance risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Manage multiple projects, timelines, and regulatory deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align permitting and compliance with project goals.
- Conduct fieldwork, coordinate environmental surveys, and travel to project sites as needed.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field with three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in federal pipeline permitting and compliance within the oil and gas sector; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Working knowledge of NEPA/MEPA processes, including EIS and EA development.
- Experience interacting with regulatory agencies, including the BLM.
- Understanding of Montana regulatory requirements (MFSA, DEQ).
- Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills.
Computer Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
