JOB DESCRIPTION:
The registered nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing services and supporting medical providers in delivering quality health care to patients and to support the TNR mission. This position has a day shift and night shift available.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently and consistently use the nursing process to safely, compassionately, and efficiently care for patients in our 10-bed inpatient withdrawal management program.
- Utilize standard screening tools. Ex: CIWA COWS, PAWS, pain and suicidal screening tools.
- Implement a plan of care and evaluate the clients progress toward attainment of the outcomes, working collaboratively with the clinical team.
- Work closely with medical provider to assess and monitor patient needs
- Administer prescribed medications and other therapeutic interventions to include MAT
- Build and maintain a working relationship with community partner agencies
- Maintain current training and continuing education to perform duties to the highest standards of care.
- Documentation and billing in EHR as indicated and appropriate.
- Maintain TNR culture.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Successful graduation from ADN or BSN accredited nursing program
- Current Alaska Registered Nurse License
- CPR certified or willing to become certified through an accredited program
- Experience working with patients who are suffering from addiction, depression, anxiety, and other mental health diagnosis
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ability to climb stairs and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

- Knowledge of alcohol use disorder and substance use disorder and addiction medicine
- Ability to interact with patients, families and others in an empathetic, respectful and friendly manner
- Ability to communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to situations, crises and emergencies with critical thinking and good judgment
- Working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and 42 CFR
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple responsibilities and tasks to completion

This role is primarily performed in an office building with standard office environment and controlled temperatures. When working outdoors or at a job site the employee may be exposed to construction equipment or other moving objects/equipment; reference job site specifics. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk/hear, see, read, and personally interact with others.
