What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager position at True North Companies?
Senior Project Manager → Market Leader | Upstate South Carolina
Spartanburg | Greenville | Woodruff
True North Companies
True North Companies is looking for a senior project leader in the Upstate — someone we can build a group around over time.
This is a commercial construction leadership role within a general contracting environment. Experience in education, mixed-use, or other complex vertical projects is highly valued, but more important is your ability to lead projects in the field, manage subcontractors and schedules, and own execution from preconstruction through closeout.
The immediate need is project leadership. The real opportunity is broader — stepping into an established system, earning trust quickly, strengthening the operation, and growing into a true market leadership role as the Upstate presence develops.
You would step into an active market with existing work and relationships, with the expectation to take full ownership of active jobsites and project teams immediately, while helping build out the team and presence over time. This is not a ground-up startup, but it is an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility early and help shape how the Upstate operation grows.
We are not looking for someone who simply keeps work moving.
We are looking for someone who raises the standard.
Someone who can run meaningful projects, build confidence with clients and trade partners, develop strong people around them, and leave the team better than they found it.
If your background is primarily in manufacturing, operations, or program management outside of construction, this likely isn’t the role.
If your strength is leadership, ownership, and building something larger within a commercial construction environment — that’s exactly what we’re after.
This is not a role for someone still developing into leadership. It’s for a proven project leader with the judgment, operating discipline, and presence to take on more — and the ambition to grow into a broader leadership seat over time.
That combination is rare, and that’s exactly why this search matters.
If you know someone in the Upstate market who fits that trajectory, I’d welcome a confidential conversation.
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
